2010 Exemplar Heathcote Shiraz
Totally opaque inky black colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced liquorice allsorts and vanillin confectionary aromas are to the fore followed by some blackberry, lightly toasted oak, mocha and faint pepper end notes. Full bodied, yet with a somewhat elegant mouthfeel the palate has a rich juicy flavour profile of liquorice, dark plum, blackberries and vanillin oak with some spice on the finish. Very fine grained, velvet like tannins with a long aftertaste of blackberry, liquorice, dark plum, smoky vanillin oak and pepper.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14%
Other Reviews....
Full, deep purple-crimson; combines power and intensity with elegance and balance; the fragrant bouquet is the opening chorus for the symphony of spice, licorice, black cherry and blackberry of the palate, where quality oak and ripe but firm tannins the final act. Drink by 2035.
