2010 Lady of the Glen Bunnahabhain Single Cask #554983 12 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

The dessert dram in the new outturn is from a very active PX cask. Ginger snaps and sulphur compete with dates and coffee cake. Slowly the spices start to push through, with cinnamon and allspice on both the nose and palate. Walnut fudge, raisin cake and fruity dark chocolate build at the finish. There are some bitter marmalade moments too. This sherry-drenched malt won't appeal to everyone, but the thick texture and chocolate salted-almond come back will more than compensate most; and the length is impressive - even if the sherry is almost overflowing. 55.3% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered. 320 bottles.

Notes from the bottlers... Founded in 1881 on the northern shore of Islay. An unpeated distillate with citrus fruits and honey notes. Matured in an ex-oloroso sherry butt and finished in an ex-Pedro Ximenez hogshead. The tasting revealed, honey glaze, baked apple and frangipane.
