2010 Le Haut Medoc de Monbrison

A blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon and 46% Merlot. Opaque black crimson red colour with dark crimson hue. Quite perfumed top note aromas of ripe blackcurrant and liquorice greet the nose followed by some more subtle black cherry, light cigar box and spice scents. The palate possesses good richness within its medium bodied frame delivering flavours of blackcurrant alongside some more nuanced characters of black cherry and liquorice with underlying cedar and spice. Slightly dryish but very fine grained tannins impart some chewiness on the finish. Long blackcurrant, cedar, subtle earth and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years (2019-2020).
