2010 Single Malts of Scotland Reserve Cask A Speyside Distillery 10 Year Old Parcel No.4 Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)
A batch of three sherry butts from an unnamed but very, very famous Speyside distillery. Distilled in 2010 and aged for more than ten years, the result is a silky-yet-rich, abundantly flavoured dram. Could it be Glenfarclas? Or is it Macallan? We're not able to confirm, but three sherry butts from either sounds good! 48% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
Notes from the bottlers... NOSE: Rum-and-raisin ice cream, served with pecan pie and caramel brittle. Aromas of caramelised plums and freshly-baked redcurrant scones mingle with the freshness of crisp paper. PALATE: Cloves and mince pies, with a dusting of icing sugar, greet us on the palate. Boiled fruitcake, drizzled with acacia honey, fills the senses. This is then joined by dried cranberries and liquorice-and-mint tea. FINISH: Warming and sweetly intense: allspice, agave syrup and dates. Echoes of velvet falernum and almond extract rest at the back of the palate. Angel's share: 3.58%
