2011 Chateau Caillou 2nd Grand Cru Classe
Other Reviews….
The 2011 Caillou has a light nose of lime cordial and freshly cut Satsumas, and it grows in stature with aeration to reveal subtle tropical notes. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous entry that is cut through by a silver thread of acidity, rendering the residual sugar barely perceptible. It is extremely taut and focused with a very precise finish. This Barsac second growth has good potential and should drink well over twenty years. Drink: 2013 - 2030

Neal Martin Wine Advocate #200 Apr 2012
Remarkably knit and defined already, with bright, mouthwatering peach, apricot, persimmon and piecrust flavors. Long and pure. A beautiful wine. Good to see this estate back in the action. It made a terrific 2001, but has been quiet lately.

Wine Spectator
A wine with dried oranges and spices with hints of lemon. Full body, with medium sweetness and a spicy finish. Intense botrytis character on the finish.
