2011 Heathcote Estate Shiraz

Totally opaque black purple colour with deep dark purple black hue. The nose shows good lift with liquorice, ripe blackberry and dark cherry scents dominate over some toasty oak. Medium weight with a sense of elegance about it, the palate has generous blackberry, liquorice, toasty oak and spice flavours but lacks the depth and persistence of top vintages. Slightly dryish but fine grained tannins with aftertaste of liquorice, blackberry and spicy oak. A very good effort from a difficult vintage.
