2011 Pierro Chardonnay

Brilliant pale straw colour with a hint of greenish tinge around the edges and watery hue. The nose shows good intensity with attractive scents of delicate white peach, citrus and cashew intermixing with some funky flinty match stick notes followed by some subtle toastiness. Rich and mouthfilling as well as possessing a moderately creamy, texturally elegant mouthfeel the palate delivers flavours of white peach, cashew, some funky smoky barrel ferment characters, spicy toasted oak and a hint of hazelnut on the long persistent finish. Excellent acid structure ensures good medium term cellaring capabilities. White peach, cashew, subtle spicy toasty oak and some matchstick flintiness on the long aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years (2013-2019).
