2011 Robert Oatley The Pennant Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured for 12 months in tight grained, low toast French oak. Totally opaque dark red black colour with a deep dark red hue. The nose features a fragrant bouquet of blackcurrants and mulberries laced with cedary tobacco characters and black olives followed by some cigar box and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate is flooded with rich blackcurrant and dark cherry fruit over mulberry, cigar box, black olive and spicy cedar nuances. The tannins have an underlying firmness yet are velvet like. Excellent concentration and depth with a long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, mulberry, cedary cigar box and spice.
