2011 West Cape Howe Cabernet Merlot

Matured for 12 months in French oak. Opaque black dark crimson red colour with dark crimson black hue. The nose has a bouquet of blackcurrant and mulberry overlaid by some spearmint bay leaf like characters with some trailing cedar and spice notes. Medium weight the palate has a relatively tight, slightly chalky mouthfeel with flavours of blackcurrant, spearmint, cedar and spice. Dryish, dusty tannins with aftertaste of blackcurrant, spearmint and spice.
Cellar 4-5 years.
