2012 Campbells Shiraz Durif

This blend is missing Rutherglen’s classic colour saturation displaying only a deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. The nose is a little shy with ripe dark cherry aromatics followed by some Morello cherry, faint vanillin cedar and spice. Light weight by Rutherglen standards the palate is soft, approachable and savoury with flavours of dark cherries, meaty characters and spicy cedar. Fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of dark cherries, dried meats and spicy cedar. A modern styled Rutherglen red that lacks personality and is the polar opposite of Warrabilla’s reds.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
