2012 Chateau Meillac Bordeaux Superieur

A blend of 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. Very deep dark red black colour with a dark red hue. Lifted blackcurrant aromas are complexed by earthy tobacco, mulberry, spicy cedar and dried herbs. Very elegant with light to medium body weight, the palate has a refined old claret flavour profile of spicy red to black currant and mulberry fruit which morphs into earth, cedary tobacco characters and dried herb elements. Dryish finish with slightly chalky tannins and a medium length aftertaste. Good value if you’re looking to experience aged Bordeaux on a budget.
