2012 Domaine des Escaravailles Les Sablieres Cotes du Rhone

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark crimson red hue. The nose is a touch subdued with aromas of dark raspberry, dried herbs, some meaty earth like characters and spice slowly emerging. Light to medium weight and quite savoury the palate dishes up flavours of dark raspberries intermixed with spicy dried herbs and meaty characters. Very fine grained tannins with a medium to long aftertaste of spicy dark raspberries, some meatiness and spicy dried herbs. A lighter, savoury styled Cotes du Rhone that offers great drinkability.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
