2012 Fox Creek Reserve Shiraz

Superb colour displaying an inky black core with a very deep dark crimson red black hue. On the nose toasty oak pokes out at first but becomes better integrated as the wine warms up in the glass with aromas of liquorice, ripe blackberry, dark plum, vanillin confectionary and subtle pepper following. Full bodied, very concentrated and possessing liqueur like richness the palate delivers voluptuous flavours of liquorice, ripe blackberries and black cherries over a background of toasty vanillin oak and spice. The solidly built tannins have a sense of firmness but are overwhelmed by opulent fruit. Outstanding length and power finishing with a very long aftertaste of liquorice, dark plum, ripe blackberries, black cherries, toasty vanillin oak and spice.
