2012 Hanging Rock Heathcote Shiraz

Aged in new French and American oak barriques for 18 months with a total production of only 300 dozen. Totally opaque black dark purple colour with a bright dark purple hue. Intense liquorice, blackberry and dark chocolate aromas are laced with toasty vanillin oak followed by some earth and spice notes. Rich opulently textured flavours of ripe blackberry, dark chocolate and liquorice flow across the palate overlaying a back drop of toasty vanillin oak and spice. A solidly built core of tannins provide the structure. Good depth with a long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberries, toasty vanillin oak, subtle earth and spice.
