2012 Mazzei Poggio Badiola

A Sangiovese and Merlot blend matured for 10 months in oak barrels. Deep bright dark red black colour with a dark crimson red hue. The nose displays dark cherry aromas intermixed with some new leather, cedar and spice notes. Light to medium weight the palate has savoury flavours of dark cherries, cedar, subtle earthiness and spice. Dry finish with slightly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of dark cherries, earthy cedar and spice.
