2012 Mendel Lunta Malbec

Sourced from vines planted in 1928 with maturation taking place in French oak. Opaque inky black crimson colour with a dark crimson black tinged hue. Aromas of black cherries, blackcurrant and a touch of liquorice emerge from the glass followed by some cedar, a faint hint of earth and spice. Full bodied the palate features rich blackcurrant and black cherry flavours intermixed with some liquorice underpinned by cedar and spice. Solidly built, slightly grippy tannins provide the wine with a richly textured yet structural mouth feel. Excellent length with a long ripe blackcurrant, black cherry, cedar, earth and spice aftertaste.
