2012 Nocton Vineyard Merlot

Deep dark red colour with a dark red to brick red hue. Stewed fruit aromas are followed by cedar, a hint of scorched earth and spice. The palate has flavours of ripe plums and dark cherries overlaid by toasty cedar and scorched earth with a spicy back palate. Dry, slightly bitter finish with the tannins imparting a touch of chalkiness. Moderate aftertaste of dark cherries, cigar box and spicy scorched earth.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
