2012 Pio Cesare Barbera d'Alba

Very deep dark red black colour with a bright dark red hue. Aromas of ripe black cherries, pen ink, earthiness and spice emanate from the glass. Light to medium bodied the palate possesses generous ripe black cherry flavours alongside some inky characters with earthy leather and spice in the background. Dryish finish with slightly chalky tannins and fresh acidity. Aftertaste of spicy black cherries and earthy leather.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
