2012 Shadowfax Pinot Noir

Semi translucent dark red colour with a tinge of black around the edges and a dark crimson red hue. Perfumed aromas of violets, ripe dark cherries, strawberries and subtle anise emerge from the glass followed by some spicy toasty oak. Light weight the palate has flavours of dark cherries alongside some anise followed by some toasty cedar and spice. Dryish finish with fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of dark cherries, light anise, some meatiness and lightly smoke spicy cedar.
