2012 Veuve Clicquot Vintage Champagne
A blend of 51% Pinot Noir, 34% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier sourced from twelve different Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards with an average of 5 years on lees. An exuberant mousse froths to the top of the glass leaving in it’s wake a pale straw coloured base that has pale gold edges. The bead is lively and persistent. Nosing presents a classic sniff of baked bread aromas intertwined with citrus, light oily toast like notes, yeast lees and hints of almond. The refined, airy palate combines crisp citrus fruits with yeast lees, oily baked bread characters, subtle dried honey elements and faint notions of roasted almonds. Dry chalk tinged finish with racy acidity and a long, fine yet vivid aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

A blend of 51/34/15% pinot noir/chardonnay/pinot meunier, with 11% reserves aged in large foudres. It's beautifully sculpted and balanced, white peach and cashew glide across the palate. The lingering finish and aftertaste are as fresh as a daisy. One of the most consistent houses.

There’s a serious structure behind the considerable richness of this bold champagne. A wide range of dried-fruit aromas, but also some mint and sage freshness. Complex texture at the long, chalky finish. 12% of the cuvée is fermented in barrel. 60% pinot noir, 30% chardonnay and 10% pinot meunier, all from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. Drink or hold.
