2013 Caliterra Tributo Carmenere

Possessing superb fruit intensity and length this Carmenere delivers exceptional value.

This Carmenere contains a portion of Malbec (5%) and Petit Verdot (2%) in the blend with maturation taking place in French oak of which 16% were new for a period of 12 months.

Totally opaque inky black core with a dark crimson black hue showing outstanding depth. Pronounced aromas of ripe blackcurrant, black cherry and liquorice are laced with tobacco like characters followed by spicy cedar end notes. Medium to full bodied the palate is filled with rich blackcurrant, black cherry and liquorice flavours which dominate over a backdrop of cedary tobacco characters and spice. Very fine grained, yet supportive tannins provide the framework. Excellent length and fruit intensity finishing with a long aftertaste of blackcurrant, black cherry, liquorice and spicy cedary tobacco characters.
