2013 Claxton's Exploration Series Benrinnes 9 Year Old Bordeaux Cask Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Claxton's Director, Tom Roskams describes this as "a good casual dram for a Monday night". Finished in a Bordeaux barrique, judging by the colour, it's assumed this was a red wine cask. The wine input is quite salient, especially on the palate where there's a gorgeous splash of red-berry character suggesting strawberry sponge or raspberry infused dark chocolate. The finish is brisk, semi-sweet and drying, lingering with hints of cherry ripe bar and Turkish Delight. 50% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
