2013 Quarisa Johnny Q Shiraz

Opaque dark red black colour with a dark red hue. The nose reveals aromas of liquorice and black cherries with a prominent charred oak overlay followed by spice end notes. Soft and supple in the mouth the palate has generous flavours of ripe black cherries and liquorice infused with spicy charred oak and a touch of scorched earth. Velvet smooth tannins. Aftertaste of liquorice, ripe black cherries, charred oak and spice. Like the previous vintage there’s a strong charred oak component running through the wine which some will find a little overdone.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
