2013 Vietti Nebbiolo Perbacco

A wonderful vintage for Barolo, the Perbacco is produced from parcels of Nebbiolo all planted in the Barolo region with an average age of the vines being 35 years. Aging takes place in barriques and large format casks for a period of 2 years and 4 months.

Deep bright dark red colour with a crimson brick red hue. Delightful aromas of violets, red cherries and strawberries blossom from the glass followed by some earthy cedar and spicy fresh herb end notes. Charming and elegant the palate dishes up a savoury flavour profile of ripe red cherries and strawberries which morph into some earthy leather characters and spicy dried herbs. Dry finish with slightly chalky tannins. Good length with an aftertaste of spicy ripe red cherries, strawberries, earthy leather and dried herb infusions.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
