2013 Zenato Alanera

In this typical Veronese style the grapes are partially dried prior to fermentation to concentrate the flavours. Opaque dark red black colour with a dark red hue. Rich aromatics of ripe black cherries and liquorice are intermixed with dried cherry notes followed by lightly scorched earth and spicy leather. On the palate generous ripe black cherry flavours sitting alongside some liquorice are overlaid by dried cherries, earth and spicy leather. Velvet smooth tannins with a soft round textural feel. Medium to long aftertaste of ripe black cherries, liquorice, dried cherries, earthy leather characters and spice.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
