2014 Caliterra Tributo Carmenere

Produced from predominately Carmenere the 2014 Tributo also contains 5% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot. Maturation took place in French oak for 12 months of which 10% were new.

Totally opaque inky black core with a deep bright dark red black tinged hue. Aromatics of blackcurrant, black cherry and liquorice with subtlety infused tobacco are followed by spicy cedar. Showing excellent fruit richness yet possessing an elegant feel the palate dishes up a savoury flavour profile of blackcurrant intermixed with liquorice over some cedary tobacco characters and a touch of earth with a spicy dry finish. Fine grained well integrated tannins. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, liquorice, spicy cedar and some tobacco. Great value.
