2014 Claxton's Exploration Series Tomintoul 7 Year Old Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

An appealing colour for a young Oloroso matured Tomintoul, with nuances of orange and cognac to the leading aromas followed by plump malty notes that develop with milk chocolate, honey and oat biscuits. What strikes you is the purity of the spirit - stylistically similar to many official Tomintouls - but with much more weight and texture, the palate offering a balanced sherry and malt interplay, full and rounded with soft sweet spices, more vanilla then prunes. Hints of cocoa and orange cream tea biscuits enter through the finish. 50% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
