2014 Cousino-Macul Antiguas Reservas Cabernet Sauvignon

Cousino-Macul was established in 1856 and is the only winery amongst those established in the nineteenth century that remains in the hands of the original founding family. Their Antiguas Reservas range of wines deliver excellent varietal expression and are fantastic value.

Aged in French oak for 12 months. Totally opaque dark red black colour with a dark red hue. Aromas of red currant and mulberry intermix with some tobacco and black olive characters followed by spicy cedar. Medium bodied the palate is blessed with rich blackcurrant and mulberry fruits which sit over a backdrop of cedary tobacco characters, faint black olive and spicy dried herbs. Slightly dryish, finely grained tannins provide a good backbone. Aftertaste of ripe red and black currants, mulberries, black olive infusions, cedary tobacco characters and spice.
