2014 Escarpment Kupe Pinot Noir

Excellent depth with a deep dark red black tinged core and a dark red hue. Elevated aromas of black cherries and anise intermingle with toasty oak, a hint of scorched earth and spice. The palate is very rich and quite weighty with ripe black cherry, dark plum and anise flavours dominate over toasty oak, scorched earth and some meatiness with a spicy finish. Solidly built tannins have the required grip and structure to hold the fruit in check. Excellent concentration and power with a long spicy aftertaste of black cherries, anise, smoky oak, scorched earth and dried meats. A big, ripe well structured Pinot Noir.
