2014 Escarpment Te Rehua Pinot Noir

Excellent depth of colour displaying a very deep dark red black tinged core with a dark red hue. Intensely scented with ripe black cherry, liquorice, dark plum and violet infusions wafting from the glass followed by toasty oak, a hint of dried meats and spice. Rich and quite full in body with a structured mouthfeel the palate dishes up ripe black cherry, liquorice and dark plum flavours over a backdrop of inky earth like characters, toasty oak and spice. Drying finish with firmly built, slightly chalky tannins providing grip. Medium to long aftertaste of inky black cherries, liquorice, earth, toasty cedar and spice.
