2014 Parker Coonawarra Estate First Growth

A blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot matured in 100% new French oak for 18-20 months. Totally opaque black dark red core with a deep dark red hue. Showing ample intensity out of the glass are aromatics of blackcurrant, mulberry, dusty vanillin cedar and tobacco which are trailed by black olive and bay leaf notes. The rich medium to full bodied palate has a Bordeaux like refinement to it with blackcurrant and mulberry fruits flooding the mouth. Elements of tobacco, dusty vanillin cedar, dried herbs, earthy black olive and spice follow on. Fine grained, slightly drying tannins provide great structure. The aftertaste long and elegant.
