2015 Adelphi Dailuaine 8 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

A youthful Dailuaine drawn from a first-fill American oak oloroso sherry cask, also notable as one of the first of the 'new Dailuaines'. A change took place when the production team altered the style of the spirit from nutty to waxy in 2015. It was Diageo's strategy to compensate for the loss of Clynelish in their market-leading blends when it temporarily closed for renovations. As of the Summer of 2022, Dailuaine reverted back to its original, nutty style, so a small window of opportunity exists for fans to experience the difference. The outturn was 290 bottles. 59.4% Alc./Vol. Non-chill filtered.

Nose: Linseed oil, polish, beewax, salty biscuits, hot pumpernickel with salty butter, Soreen loaf, table tennis racket, stollen, panettone, key-lime pie with graham cracker crust, cola cubes. Palate: Red cola, waxy! Greasy flapjacks, melted butter, oily, bourbon-soaked cherries, vermouth, Angostura bitters, red grapefruit, Maraschino cherry syrup, iced doughnuts, Grand Marnier, gingerbread dough, liquor coffee, chicory coffee.
