2015 Barricas del Plata Malbec

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. The nose displays good aromatic lift with black cherry and hints of liquorice overlaid by violets followed by traces of scorched earth and spice. Light to medium weight the palate has fruity dark to black cherry flavours over some dried herb infusions, subtle vanillin cedar and spice. Slightly dryish but otherwise fine grained tannins. The acidity still has a youthful brightness to it with an aftertaste of dark to black cherries, a hint of liquorice, dried herbs and spicy cedar.
Cellar 3-4 years.
