2015 Caliterra Cenit

A blend of 37% Malbec, 30% Petit Verdot, 17% Syrah and 16% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in French oak for 24 months. Magnificent depth of colour displaying an inky black core and a very deep dark red black hue. Pronounced violet, blackcurrant and liquorice aromas infused with tobacco and black olives blossom from the glass. Dark plum, earth, spicy cedar and dried herb notes then ensue. Rich yet elegant and finessed, the medium to full bodied palate is flooded with ripe blackcurrant, liquorice and dark plum fruit that has degree of opulence to it, supported by sturdy, firmly structured tannins. Cedary tobacco characters, black olives, subtle earth and spice provide additional interest. Possesses both power and intensity but in a refined way finishing long.

Very dense blackberry fruit, but also delicate mint and sage notes. Great concentration. Serious, fine-grained tannins. The finish is long with great vitality. You can drink this now, but if you wait a few years it will richly reward you.
