A fine mousse dissipates to reveal a pale straw coloured base that has pale gold edges and is threaded by a persistent bead. Aromas of pear and baked apple mingle with toasted bread, yeast lees and citrus. Crisp and racy the palate has a refined flavour profile of pear, baked bread and yeast lees over roasted almonds. Finishes dry with a twist of citrus and a faintly creamed but otherwise sculptured aftertaste.

Over 36 months on lees, disgorged July '18; from estate vineyards at Coldstream, Whitlands and Strathbogie. The interaction of cold climate sites and varieties gives rise to flavours ranging between grapefruit, green apple, almonds and marzipan. Compelling complexity and length.
