2015 Domaine Barmes-Buecher 7 Grains
A blend of 7 different grape varieties primarily composed of Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Blanc aged for 10 months on lees. Brilliant straw colour with a very slight tinge of green on the edges and a watery hue. Exotic aromatics of rose petals, lychees and musk rise from the glass followed by end notes of ripe lime and spice. Richly flavoured with a full, luscious textural feel the palate boasts mouthfilling ripe pear and lychee characters subtlety infused with musk and Turkish delight finishing dry and spicy. Perfectly balanced acidity gives an air of freshness to this otherwise rich, textured white. Excellent concentration and length concluding with a long aftertaste of lychees, musk, subtle Turkish delight and spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
