Opaque dark red black colour with a bright dark red hue. Heady aromas of black raspberries, kirsch, liquorice and ripe dark plums waft from the glass over hints of vanillin oak, scorched earth and spice. Full bodied the palate is loaded with lavish black fruit flavours that possess a voluptuous textural feel. Ripe black raspberries, liquorice and dark plums flood the mouth underscored by vanillin oak, traces of earth and spice. Silky smooth tannins. Superb power and concentration finishing with a long succulent aftertaste of black raspberries, liquorice, dark plums, vanillin oak and spice. A very rich, seductive Greanche.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.5%
Coming from Torbreck’s former Les Amis vineyard in Seppeltsfield (planted in 1901 and dry grown), the 2015 Brennecker Grenache sports a medium ruby-purple color and exotic spice notes over baked raspberries, cherry cordial and dried herbs with suggestions of anise, roses and tar. Full-bodied, rich and opulent in the mouth, the palate is silken-textured with seductive flavor layers and wonderful poise, finishing long and spicy. Drink 2017-2035.
