Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Scents of red to black currant and mulberry fruits blossom from the glass with dusty vanillin cedar, light spicy tobacco, black olive and subtle bay leaf following on. Medium bodied with a refined feel to the spicy black currant and mulberry fruits which overlay cedary tobacco characters, faint black olive and traces of bay leaf. Slightly dryish finish with a fine matrix of grainy tannins and balanced acidity providing great structure. Long elegant conclusion.
Drink over the next 8-10 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews…..
50% new French oak. It's as much about texture and length as it is about flavour, though there's certainly no shortage of the latter. It tastes of dark chocolate and coffee, blackcurrant and black licorice, with gum leaf notes adding lift. Tannin. We need to talk about tannin. It's so fine and yet so firm in this wine; it's like a wise old cope, perfect in its under-zealous application of the law. What we have here is a wine perfectly positioned to age magnificently. Drink by 2044.
