2015 Wilson Watervale Riesling

There are two sub-regions that consistently produce the best wines from Clare, Polish Hill River and Watervale. The interesting part is that the primary fruit aromas and flavours from Watervale are completely different to those from Polish Hill River. Polish Hill River Rieslings tend to be more restrained, tighter and have a finer delicacy in the mouth whereas the Watervale Rieslings generally have more upfront generosity and luscious fruit intensity.

Brilliant water like colour with a very faint tinge of green around the edges and a watery hue. Intense lemon and lime aromas arise from the glass with underlying orange rind, talc and mineral also present. Fresh and zippy the palate features lime and citrus flavours over some orange rind with a touch of steely mineral on the crisp dry finish. Superb length with a long conclusion of lemon, lime, orange rind and subtle steely mineral.
