2016 Antinori Peppoli Chianti Classico

Antinori’s Peppoli was first made in 1985 and year in year out proves to be a reliable, great value Chianti Classico. Produced from predominately Sangiovese grapes, the wine was aged for approximately 9 months in large Slavonian oak casks with a small parcel in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness of fruit.

A delightful Chianti filled with savoury red fruits.

Deep dark red colour with a slight overtone of black to the edges and a dark red hue. Fragrant red cherry and red currant aromas gently infused with notions of violets are followed by earth and spicy herb notes. Elegant in body the palate is filled with ripe red currant and red cherry flavours which intermix with earthy tobacco elements, dried herbs and spicy old cedar. Bright finish with finely grained well integrated tannins and a savoury aftertaste of spicy red fruits, earthy old cedar, light tobacco and dried herbs.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
