Bottle

Cellar: 8 - 10 Years (2026-2028)

Sourced from the oldest parcels of fruit, the fabled Abel clone, allegedly smuggled from Burgundy in the mid 1970’s, makes up to 40% of the blend. Maturation took place in French oak (35% new) for a period of 11 months.

Deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a bright crimson purple hue. Perfumed aromatics of violets, red and dark cherries and ripe strawberries laced with hints of anise overlay subtle game characters and spicy cedar. Light in body the palate has restrained power that will fully flourish with time in the bottle. Supple, yet fresh and elegant in its mouthfeel the palate features flavours of ripe red and dark cherries, strawberries, some gaminess, spicy cedar and light earth. Slightly dryish finish with bright acidity and tightly grained tannins providing excellent structure. Long aftertaste of spicy red and dark cherries, strawberries, an earthy meatiness and light cedar.
Cellar 8-10 years.
Alc. 13%

This has all the cherry and spice and perfume that defines this consistently stunning pinot noir, as well as a sense of immense freshness. The palate has deceptive lightness and tannins that are supple and caressing and that kick fresh and expansive out through the finish. Succulent and elegant. A great vintage for this wine. Drink now. Screw cap.

Elegant, supple and very vibrant pinot noir, with seductively-layered floral, red rose, cherry, red fruits, dried herb and mixed spice flavours. Very long and linear wine that demonstrated real power delivered with great subtlety. A wonderfully pure pinot noir with a distinctive house/vineyard style and a proven ability to age graciously. Drink 2018 to 2030
