2016 Barking Mad High Trellis Grenache Shiraz

A blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Shiraz aged in French oak hogsheads for 15 months. Opaque dark red black core with a dark red hue. Ripe dark raspberry and dark cherry aromas intermingle with some liquorice over vanillin cedar and spicy scorched earth notes. The full bodied palates rich black raspberry and liquorice flavours somewhat smothered by charry vanillin cedar. Traces of earth are also apparent on the spicy finish. Slightly grippy tannins give the wine some structure. Aftertaste of spicy black raspberries, liquorice and toasty vanillin cedar.
