2016 Barringwood Pinot Gris

This excellent example of Pinot Gris is harvested quite ripe to add richness and texture but still finishes with good freshness. Brilliant very pale straw colour with a faint greenish tinge around the outskirts and a watery hue. Aromas of ripe pears and hints of apple are overlaid by perfumed musk like notes with some light honeysuckle and spice ensuing. The palate has good weight along with a rounded textural feel featuring ripe pear, apple and citrus flavours infused with honeysuckle followed by some musk and spice. Finishes dry with good fresh acidity. Long aftertaste of juicy pears, apple and citrus overlaid with honeysuckle and subtle musk infusions.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
