A blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Malbec, 9% Cabernet Franc, 9% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot matured in French oak. Totally opaque black dark red core with a dark red black tinged hue. Elevated ripe blackcurrant and spicy dark plum aromas intermingle with cedary tobacco characters, bay leaf, subtle earth and dried herbs. Medium bodied with an elegant feel and structured frame the palate is flavoured with red to black currants and spicy plum fruit underpinned by earthy cedar, dried herbs and more spice. Dryish finish with sturdy tannins and a medium to long aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14%
Other Reviews….
Clever cabernet-dominant blend incorporating malbec, franc, merlot and petit verdot to great effect. Red and black fruited, leafy cabernet, fine savoury tannins, line and length to burn. Complexity derived from judicious use different varieties rather than sheer mass, oak or volume. Gold at the National Wine Show '17 speaks volumes. Drink by 2030.
