2016 Bouvet Saphir Brut Vintage
Outside of Champagne, Bouvet is the most awarded Sparkling Wine House in France, garnering praise from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Decanter Magazine and others.
After many years of ownership by Champagne Taittinger, Bouvet Ladubay is once again fully owned by the Monmousseau family who have continuously run the business since their purchase in 1932. Bouvet Ladubay employs precisely the same wine making process as Grand Marque Champagne, delivering French sophistication at an everyday price.
Still only $20 Bouvet Saphir is a great way to get any party started.
A fine plentiful mousse shows good hold over a pale straw coloured base wine that has pale gold edges. Exceptionally fine and persistent bead. Showing good aromatic lift notions of yeast lees intermix with citrus, subtle baked bread and fresh pear notes. Energetic with a light airy feel, there’s a subtle creaminess to the well meshed flavours of pear, citrus, light baked bread, yeast lees and green apple. Dry stimulating finish with an aftertaste of pear, baked bread, citrus and yeast lees.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 12.5%
Other Reviews.....
This fragrant wine is ripe with hazelnut and peach flavors. Crisply textured, the wine is balanced, taut, mineral and still young. Its tightness suggests the aging potential while also hinting at the wine's inherent fruitiness.
