2016 Caliterra Reserva Carmenere

Excellent depth of colour displaying a totally opaque black dark red core with a bright dark red hue. Aromas of ripe red and black currant fruit are overlaid by tobacco and dried herb notes with spicy cedar following on. Medium bodied the palate has an abundance of rich red and black currant fruits which meld into some tobacco, dried herb and spicy cedar nuances. Bright youthful finish with slightly dryish but fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of spicy ripe red and black currant fruit, cedary tobacco characters and dried herbs. A great introduction to Carmenere.
