2016 Chateau Ste Anne Cotes du Provence Rouge

From vines 49 years old this wine is a blend of 25% Mourvedre, 25% Carignan, 25% Grenache and 25% Cinsault aged for 18 months in 35 HL oak vats. Dark red in colour with a dark red hue. Aromas of red currants infused with provincial herbs emanate from the glass followed by some earth, black olive, tobacco leaf and spice notes. Savoury red currant and red cherry fruits decorate the elegant palate over a back drop of earth, herbs du Provence infusions, tobacco leaf and spice. Dusty fine grained tannins lend some gentle grip to the medium length fresh red fruited and provincial herb infused finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
