2016 Feathertop Merlot

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Aromas of ripe blackcurrant meld into toasty vanillin cedar, dried herb, earth and spicy bay leaf notes. Rich blackcurrant and liquorice fruits fill the mouth showing plenty of body and flesh. Elements of earth, vanillin cedar, dried herbs and traces of spicy leather then move in. Finishes dry and slightly bitter with the tannins having a gentle chalky feel. Good depth and concentration with a medium length aftertaste that sees the earthy leather characters becoming more prominent.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
