2016 Freycinet Radenti Grand Vintage Sparkling

Radenti is a premium sparkling wine from the East Coast of Tasmania, known for its quality and numerous awards. Celebrating 30 years of production, Radenti is one of Australia's few grower-producer sparkling wines, with fruit sourced from a single vineyard dedicated to traditional method sparkling wine.
Radenti Grand Vintage 2016, following the award-winning 2011 and R3 Radenti sparklings, is a blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. The fruit is grown on a cooler part of the estate, 5 kilometers west of the main Freycinet vineyards, ensuring delicate flavors through slow ripening. The wine gains complexity from long aging on lees, with 5 years and 9 months in the tank. Ready to drink now, it will continue to develop over the next 5 to 10 years.

60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir. Five years and nine months on lees. Lovely wine, though not a huge fan of the label design.
Almond meal, salt, lemon zest, honeyed florals, tangerine, butter etc. Lively wine, with lemon oil, distinctly saline, some ginger, fine bubbles, and a nutty chalky finish of great length. Complex and spicy. Terrific. Drink 2024 - 2029+
