2016 Freycinet Vineyard Riesling

Brilliant very pale straw colour with a faint touch of green around the edges and a watery hue. The nose exhibits lifted top notes of lime and green apple with hints of mandarin and lemon sherbet followed by subtle talc and mineral. Focused fresh lime, mandarin and lemon sherbet flavours drive the palate with green apples and talcy mineral infusions also present. Clean dry finish with bracing acidity. Excellent concentration with a long lime, mandarin, lemon sherbet and talcy mineral aftertaste.
Drink now or cellar 5-6 years.

Quartz-white; a fine example of Tasmanian riesling, the variety that robustly challenges chardonnay's claim to the the leading white variety of the island. The acidity is a given, but there is totally delicious lime juice flavour in abundance, and even a hint of passionfruit. Drink by 2031.
